Our Values
New Testament Church
We value a New Testament model of church, in which Christ is our head, the Bible is our guide, and we are empowered by the Holy Spirit. We are an Elder led, autonomous local church with Apostolic oversight. We live out our mission by equipping all members for the work of the ministry.

Worship
We value praise and worship in corporate meetings and as a lifestyle. The Bible shows us many ways to worship including singing, raising hands, clapping, dancing, praying, giving, and serving. Worship is more than a thing we do; it’s how we live.

Prayer
We value prayer as an integral part of our daily life. We encourage prayer and intercession, believing God speaks to us and that He hears us. Prayer is a corporate activity and a personal discipline. It is expressed in many forms and for various purposes including silent contemplation, seeking direction, asking for healing, praying for revival, and to bring about change in our world and in our circumstances.

Generosity
We value generosity. All that we have comes from God and it is our joy to share generously with others. Our generosity may be expressed through showing hospitality, giving financially, and volunteering our time, talents, and resources.

Discipleship
We value discipleship. We are disciples of Jesus, continually being formed into His image as we love, forgive, and serve one another. We are also making disciples through teaching God’s Word and sharing our lives. Christ’s character in us is evidenced by the fruit of the Spirit as we allow Him to live through us.

Intergenerational Community
We value intergenerational community, choosing to walk together in all stages of life and honoring all ages among us. We strive to be transparent with one another and develop authentic relationships. We seek to nourish individuals, married couples, and families by doing life together, within our homes and at church.

We value outreach. We are a missional church, extending the light of Jesus through evangelism, compassion ministries, church planting, and local, regional, and international missions.

Our Story
City Hill started in the spring of 1970 as a small, close-knit group of Christians from a wide variety of backgrounds. We began our adventure together under the name New Testament Church. The early years found us gathering in homes, rented school buildings, even meeting outdoors in the summertime. We were happy to meet just about anywhere, as long as we could worship freely and the place allowed for our constant growth.
By 1972, the church had moved several times. Forest Hills Elementary was the site for the next five years, but even then we knew it was time to look for a permanent home. An eight-acre hobby farm between Baker Road and Highway 494 was available, complete with a house, garage and barn. God miraculously provided the down payment, and soon construction on the current building started. In 1977, the church began services here on our current property.
Since our beginning in the ‘70s, we’ve had a strong desire to follow Jesus’ commission to spread the good news about Jesus locally, regionally and internationally. We have trained and sent out many missionaries, both long and short term, to foreign fields. We have also started new churches and ministries here in the United States. Over the years, a large percentage of our elders have been sent out to support or lead other churches.
In 1997, we changed our name from New Testament Church to City Hill Fellowship and in 2014, revised it to City Hill Church. More than ever, we are committed to serving the people in the communities where we live, work and go to school. We want to show people Christ's love in practical ways, lead them to Jesus, equip them to use their gifts to reach people and see them released into the call of God for their lives.
